As a mid-sized, family-owned business in its third and fourth generations of leadership, we combine artisanal practices with modern capabilities to serve retailers and food service operators. Staying true to our founders’ commitment to excellence, we utilize time-honored techniques like dry curing, brining, and natural wood smoking to produce a range of proteins, including ham, bacon, ribs, brisket, turkey, and more.
Our Products
S. Wallace Edwards Sr. While ferrying folks along the James River between Surry County and historic Jamestown, he fed ham sandwiches to his hungry passengers. The travelers loved the ham so much that he decided to go into the ham business full-time.
E.M. Burger began learning the craft of curing meat from his mother Hulda and sold his first country ham
